How to Use This Journal

Our journal is designed to be an interactive tool to enhance your understanding and application of the Bible verses. Here are some steps to guide you:

Pick a Verse and Read It in Context

Begin your study by selecting a verse. Read it in context to understand its true meaning. Context is crucial in understanding the Bible because it communicates the author’s original intent.

Write One or More Alternate Versions

Try writing a verse from maybe the New King James Version, then the Amplified Classic, or maybe the ESV. This exercise can help you better grasp the verse's meaning and broaden the meaning of key words.

Write Cross References

A cross reference is another scripture with similar content or relevance. Writing cross references can expand your understanding as it connects different parts of the Bible that speak on the same topic.

Highlight and Define Key Words

Apply the Scripture

In the application clouds, write how this scripture can apply to you, the body of Christ, the world, etc. Take the time to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal what He wants to about this verse. Reflect on how God is prompting you to apply this in your life and how God is revealing His character to you.
